Diane is a painter based in North Saanich, British Columbia, whose creative journey began at an early age with a deep passion for the arts. Following her retirement in 2022, she made the decision to pursue art full-time, embracing a path of self-directed learning and exploration. A self-taught artist, Diane honed her skills through hands-on practice, online courses, and careful study of other artists’ techniques and works. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, Diane draws inspiration from the natural world—particularly the rugged beauty of the West Coast. Her paintings capture the essence of shoreline landscapes, coastal forests, and ever-changing skies, reflecting a quiet reverence for nature’s rhythms, colors, and forms. Diane’s creative process is grounded in her everyday life. When she’s not in the studio, she enjoys the simple pleasures of spending time with her family, walking her dog Brooke, gardening, and exploring the coastline with her husband in their travel trailer. Her art and lifestyle are intertwined, each infused with the same thoughtful attention and appreciation for beauty in the moment.
